OUR STORY
A little bit about the origin of Shippel from the creator.
"It all began with a craving for Ethiopian food that I just couldn't replicate at home. Frustrated by my failed attempts to recreate that perfect piece of injera (an Ethiopian bread used in almost every meal) I thought about how I had to wait for someone I knew to be traveling to Ethiopia to bring back some injera. This is what gave me the idea for Shippel. We connect individuals with globetrotters who are willing to bring back a piece of culture from their travels. Whether it's a handwoven rug, a traditional instrument, or in my case a taste of home, we aim to make the world more accessible, one authentic item at a time."
